My Stylish Winter Essentials

Here are my favourite pieces in my wardrobe to turn your winter style into chic, effortless fashion in the cold!

My Baker Boy Hat

I adore my baker boy hat and they come in so many colours! I just think the black is the most practical and you will get the most wear out of it. These hats did come out in summer but I did not enjoy girls wearing these in the sun with denim shorts. Its definitely a winter statement piece and is super warm and stylish to wear to casual and more dressy events. I wasn’t sure if this hat would suit me so I couldn’t justify paying over R300 for one at Foschini, so I waited for them to go on sale and got mine at Mr Price for R60. That’s usually how I shop.

My Long Black Coat

This piece is by far the most important of them all, it goes with every single thing in your winter wardrobe. Its practical, extremely warm, so much can fit in the pockets and it makes any outfit look chic and expensive. Throw it on over any outfit, be it jeans and a t-shirt, or a cocktail dress, a long black coat is a winter essential.

This coat is a Daniel Hechter classic coat I have had for years, it’s extremely timeless.

My Hunter Boots

These are quite a splurge, this extra length pair cost about R3000 from Hunter, however, I have gotten so much wear out of them! Living in the misty mountains it is so perfect for rainy and foggy weather. My year in the wet Cape Town weather was saved by these boots! My festival outfits were also brought up to the next level adding an expensive and stylish effect to the fun vibe. If you’re looking for something practical for the wet weather but are like me and need to be stylish always, these are the boots for you!

My Little Winter Skirt

Another item I have had for years, showing how its not about trends its about classics. Not trying to be funny but I have had this since 2007 and it has not gone out of style. Its cute, short and sexy, however has big stylish buttons and warm thick material making it super classy and chic. I wear this with black stockings and thigh high boots with my classic black polar neck I will show you next.

My Classic Black Polar Neck

This in my opinion is the second most important piece in this collection. Such a staple, dress it up or dress it down. Wear it with almost anything, it makes any outfit look put together. You might think that this style doesn’t suit you but having this high neckline brings colour right to your face and elongates your neck. Polar necks are my number one style favourite everyday of the year, but this in black is a major winter essential. I get most of mine from Woolworths for about R300 for quality.

My Black Sock Boots

These babies are my winter sexy secret! They add such class and sexiness to any outfit, they fit your leg and give you so much shape and length. Bare legs or with tights and jeans, a classic sock boot with up your outfit to expensive and super stylish. These are my favourite ones from Superbalist for R500.

So those are my winter essentials! They are the basic 6 things you need in your wardrobe for a stylish winter. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be stylish, its how you style your items. Money doesn’t buy style.
